Position: Collision Auto Body Painter

Location: Apopka, FL | Schedule: Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm (No Weekends!)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform all phases of high-quality automotive painting and refinishing on collision-repair vehicles
  • Ensure a flawless finish through sanding, masking, and final detailing
  • Mix and match colors with precision to ensure a factory finish
  • Maintain cleanliness in the paint booth and prep area
  • Collaborate with body techs, estimators, and production team to ensure timely delivery
  • Mix and apply paint per OEM specifications using correct formulas
  • Inspect vehicles pre- and post-paint to ensure quality control
  • Communicate with team members to meet production timelines and customer expectations
  • Follow all safety and environmental guidelines

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as an auto body painter or refinisher
  • Strong eye for color matching, detail, and finishing quality
  • Familiarity with waterborne or solvent-based paints
  • Skilled in sanding, masking, buffing, and blending
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and quality

Basic Skill Requirements ·        Communication skills ·        Math skills ·        Problem-solving skills ·        Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions ·        Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job Duties ·        Stays on top of product, material, and manufacturer technology and updates. ·        Perform quality control checks on earlier steps in the repair process ·        Removes rust from metal and grease and dirt from the work surface. ·        Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated. ·        Mixes paint according to specifications. ·        Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color. ·        Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate. · Inspect painted units for workmanship quality, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas. ·        Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested. ·        Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair. ·        Keeps work area clean. ·        Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely. ·        Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including a respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer. ·        Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management. ·        Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles. ·        Keeps abreast of, understands, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, Right-to-Know, etc. ·        Other tasks as assigned.
